Whatever your injury, PB Movement has a skilled therapist that can help you

As Movement Specialists, we assess, manage and treat a large range of injuries, from something you have done today to injuries you did years ago but are still giving you trouble today.

We work with people from all walks of life from elite sports people who need help with the fine detail of their movement corrected to someone who just wants to walk to the shops pain-free for the first time in years. We look to share and support you every step of the way. 

Our aim at PB movement is to treat your injury as well as correct the cause of the injury which will enable you to return to your functional fitness in the most efficient way within the most optimal time possible but also correct the cause of the injury helping prevent it from occurring again.

This is normally achieved by a mixture of the services listed below.

Our Services

Injury and Rehabilitation

Injury and rehabilitation are for those who are struggling in pain and need help reducing pain and dysfunction. 

We start every new process with an individual consultation, which is vital for us to learn more about you, your history, and your goals. Within this process, we also will take you through a movement assessment which helps us identify exactly where we need to start the work. In this session, we then plan the best and most effective way for you to move forward. Whether you are currently in pain, have pain that comes and goes, feel you aren't strong enough, or are fast enough, or just want to move better this session is for you. 

We know that working with people for a set period of time allows you to get the results you need.  We offer a different intensity of support that suit every individuals needs. These are either 8 x sessions per month, 4 x sessions per month, or 2 x sessions per month.

Alongside this you will have the opportunity to carry out work independently where we support you via our various channels of communication:

  • Private Programming App - we will send you the programmes through an app that allows us to personalise your plan and give you DAILY EXERCISES with video support on all movements

  • Direct Contact - being able to keep in touch is really important, which is where you will be able to contact your therapist regularly.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage are aimed at individuals who regularly participate in a sporting activity or individuals with muscular pain from their day-to-day activities. Sports massage manipulates soft tissue which will help improve and restore correct muscle function, increase flexibility and blood flow, remove waste products and break down adhesion. The massage we offer includes Muscle Energy Techniques (METs), Soft Tissue Release (STR), Myofacial Release, and other Advance Sports Massage Techniques.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage aims to alleviate many of the common aches and pains that develop within pregnancy as well as provide some much-needed relaxation. Pregnancy massage can help reduce leg cramps and swelling, ease headaches, reduce lower and upper back pain, and relieve sciatica and pelvic girdle pain. This is all with a pregnancy massage specialist.

Lymphatic massage

Our new lymphatic assessments are now available, with the initial assessment for an hour and follow-ups for 30 or 60 minutes.

Some symptoms of having a lymph blockage can include:

Puffiness
Swelling
Pain on palpation
Prone to clenching the jaw
Tightness

Vacuum cupping  Massage

Vacuum Cupping therapy is an alternative therapy that is used on all types of soft tissue. Vacuum Cupping therapy is where the therapist applies a cup to the skin using suction. The cups can be static (Dry Cupping) or can be used with oils for deep tissue massage. Dry cupping may leave marks on the skin for 4-10 days which is due to the blood stasis and localised healing, it is reported the darker the mark the more healing is taking place in that area of the tissue. Cupping Therapy can loosen the fascia, reduce pain and inflammation and stimulate blood flow.

Running Technique Analysis

This is a one-hour session where we analyse your running technique and movement biomechanics. During the assessment, we take a full history to learn all about you, your running, and your injuries.  We then film your walking and running, complete strength, movement, and neuromuscular tests. Once we have gathered all the information we sit down together to go through the video analysis and functional movement assessment.  We discuss with you what we have identified as strengths and weaknesses and the areas of concern which may be putting you at risk of injury or preventing you from running faster. 

Running Technique Coaching

Following on from the Running Technique Assessment the one-hour running technique coaching sessions take you through a running journey to improve your technique.  We work on the weaknesses and inefficiencies found in the Running Assessment using a variety of coaching using a mix of run training, strength training, and movement repatterning. The coaching is bespoke to you, your movement patterns, and your goals.  You are prescribed running and conditioning homework throughout the programme to enhance your running technique and movement patterns.   

In the last session, we review your goals and reassess your technique by comparing your before and after videos. We also discuss your plan running going forward ensuring you keep working to maintain your new skills, strength, and continue improving. 

We offer Running Technique Coaching in a Block of 6, 12, or 18 one-hour sessions.

Running Rehabilitation 

If you are in pain and not able to run we can still help get you back on the road to recovery. This is the perfect time for you to correct your movement and put in the right foundations for an injury and pain-free run.

Running Re-education​

We work on the weaknesses and inefficiencies found in the Running Assessment using a variety of coaching using a mix of run training, strength training, and movement re-patterning. The coaching is bespoke to you, your movement patterns, and your goals.  You will be prescribed running and conditioning homework throughout the programme to enhance your running technique and movement patterns.   

In the week you review your goals and reassess your technique by comparing your before and after videos. We also discuss your plan running going forward ensuring you keep working to maintain your new skills, strength, and continue improving.

Running improve your speed 

After completing the Running reeducation course or if you decided you would like to improve your speed this is the course for you.

  • Bespoke technique, strength, and mobility exercises

  • Reanalysis of videos to see your improvements and areas of opportunity for further improvement.

Kids Running Technique Coaching

Following on from the Running Technique Assessment the one-hour running technique coaching sessions take your child through a running journey to improve their technique.  We work on the weaknesses and inefficiencies found in the Running Assessment using a variety of coaching using a mix of run training, movement re-patterning, coordination, and balance skill. The coaching is bespoke on their movement patterns and individual goals.  Your child will be prescribed running and conditioning homework throughout the programme to enhance their running technique and movement patterns.   

In the last session, we review their goals and reassess their technique by comparing the before and after videos. We also discuss the running plan going forward ensuring they keep working to maintain your new skills, strength, and continue improving. 

We offer Running Technique Coaching in a Block of 6, 12, or 18 one-hour sessions.

Multi-Directional Sports Technique Coaching

Our Multi-directional Sports Technique Coaching is ideal for children who wish to improve their movement on the playing field whatever the sport. Following the initial movement assessment we work on speed, agility, balance, and proprioception to gain effective multi-directional movements.  Your child will be prescribed running, movement, and conditioning homework throughout the programme to enhance their running technique and movement patterns.

We offer coaching sessions in blocks of 6, 12 or 18 and recommend at least one session per week.

Movement Assessment and Coaching

This is a one-hour session where we analyse your movement biomechanics. Once we have gathered all the information we sit down together to go through the video analysis and functional movement assessment.  We discuss with you what we have identified as strengths and weaknesses and the areas of concern which may be putting you at risk of injury or preventing you from moving better.
